Chris Hardwick is a stand-up comedian and is also one half of the musical comedy duo Hard ‘N Phirm- who recently finished the soundtrack for the new Rob Zombie animated comedy, El Superbeasto. He was host of PBS’s series “Wired Science”, he writes for Wired magazine, he is a regular on G4’s “Attack of the Show”, he is the voice of Otis on Nickelodeon’s “Back at the Barnyard”, and now he has started one of our new favorite websites, The Nerdist, where he writes about various tech related funnies, wacky stories he finds on the internet and conducts hardcore tech related product reviews. (from which no one, even the mighty iGiant, is safe.)

Chris Hardwick: Attack of The Nerdist!

It never ceases to amaze me- the amount of work that performers, actors and comedians put into their careers. It’s never ending, one gig after another with no promise of what is to come and yet so many of them do it with so much enthusiasm and excitement that it really is inspiring. Chris Hardwick falls safely into the category hard working celebrities who also happen to be really nice, hard working, down to earth people.

Don’t get me wrong- Hardwick is not a normal human being. He is one of those creatures who is able to effectively access both hemispheres of his brain and produce equally brilliant results from each. Just take a look at his current resume: He has a solo stand up career and is also one half of the musical comedy duo Hard ‘N Phirm- who just finished the soundtrack for the new Rob Zombie animated comedy, El Superbeasto. Hard ‘N Phirm: It Takes Two, Baby.

Hard ‘N Phirm is comprised of long-time friends Chris Hardwick and Mike Phirman, two of the most original, creative and musically gifted comedians performing today. They just finished writing, “a large chunk” of the soundtrack for Rob Zombie’s new movie, “Superbeasto”, and have been writing songs for the website Super Deluxe.

Pop-Rock Candy Mountain spoke with Chris and Mike about their music, their friendship, their privates and most importantly, their mastery of the Melodica.
